Lynlie Carson
Bio of Artist

Born and raised in Arizona, Lynlie Carson grew up in the 50s in a large happy family that whole-heartedly nurtured her creative and artistic interests. Before entering college, she attended the Institute Allende in San Miguel, Mexico where she studied drawing, painting and sculpture. Later, Carson attended Arizona State University where she received her B.F.A. She continued her education in San Miguel, where she pursued graduate studies in graphic design and apprenticed with two ceramicists.

Carson has developed a lifelong series of artwork inspired by her family’s ranch, Orme Ranch located in Mayer, Arizona. It was in this encouraging and open atmosphere that Carson developed the ability to exhibit a quality of truth about her subject matter. She developed a strong grounding in draftsmanship, which allowed her figurative and landscape work to emanate a level of sincerity reached by combining her intimate understanding of her subject’s physical properties as well as its symbolism.

Lynlie is practiced in a variety of mediums in the traditional fine arts that include oils, acrylics, and watercolors.Whether she is capturing an autumn stroll through the park, a sunlit afternoon in an English country garden or a group of couples enjoying a ballroom dance in the 1920s, Carson’s work always tells a charming story. The drama of each piece suggests a dauntless yet subtle hand behind the curtain, much like the demeanor of Carson herself – both confident and refined.
