David Bailey was born and raised in Bromsgrove, in central England. His early training at Northeast Worchester College spanned a wide variety of media, including architectural drawing, metal sculpture, and painting/drawing. Bailey then studied ceramics at the University of the West of England for two years, then emigrated to America with his wife and eventually settled into a career in fine arts and illustration. Says Bailey, "I am entranced by the fusion of colors, the orderliness of certain architectural formalities, and the weathered façades of the walls and doors found in everyone’s hometown. These key elements spark my inquisitions and my image making. It’s what I enjoy most." |
